Parents please remember that chorus ends at 4:30 every Tuesday and if you are picking your child up they need to be met at the car parent pick up lot. Our first performance will be Saturday, March 7th at 1pm. This is for the Railroad Festival. Performance attire is a must. (students who have not purchased their chorus shirt need to do so ASAP).

Former CEB principal, Evelyn Chastain, was one of our guest readers during our Literacy Week activities. Current principal, Shelley Lester, welcomed our guests and supported our program! Thank you, ladies, for all that you do for CEB.
When Maj. David Senters read to a 2nd-grade class on Thursday, he was asked, "Do policemen really like donuts?" On Friday, he returned to that classroom with donuts for the entire class! They were also given Krispy Kreme hats to wear. Thank you, Major Senters!
Local author, Diana Rountree, met with students in grades K-3 on Friday, January 29th. This event rounded out our Celebrate Literacy Week activities. Mrs. Rountree, who lives right here in Green Cove Springs, read her book, "Potatoes On My Head." The students really enjoyed our gracious guest. We look forward to her next visit!
CEB students celebrated Literacy Week with a number of activities. One of the major events was our "Leaders are Readers" program on Thursday. Several leaders in our community arrived at school early, enjoyed breakfast, and then shared a book with a classroom. Local government officials, a county judge, several school board employees, business owners, local student athletes and ROTC cadets, a state senator, first responders, and others participated. It's was hard to tell who had more fun - the students or our guests!!!
On January 13, over 150 CEB students loaded up on charter buses and rode to Spring Park to celebrate their successes on last year's FCAT. These students either scored a 5 on their tests or they made the greatest gains over their previous scores. Congratulations! Despite the weather, the students enjoyed a pizza party in the park. Keep up the hard work. We are so proud of your accomplishments.
