Who is Bob? It's not a "who." B.O.B. stands for "Battle of the Books. Although the district will not be conducting the county-wide battle this year, CEB has decided to host our own school battle. Fourth-graders are busy reading the SSYRA books and getting ready for the big battle. Who will win this year? Will it be Mrs. Davis' class? How about Mrs. Graves? Mrs. Hume always has a great class of readers. Mrs. Vidal loves that trophy. Can she win it? Mrs. Scherer's class looks awfully good. It will be an interesting battle this year.
Each nine weeks, a couple of generous benefactors donate 2 Kindle Fire devices as rewards for our students who read this year's SSYRA books. So far this year we have given away six of these wonderful devices and will be giving away two more before the end of the year. This week, we had the priviledge of presenting Kindle Fire readers to two fourth graders. Congratuations to Riley from Mrs. Davis' class and Joseph from Ms. Vidal's class. Keep reading. You could be our next winner!
On March 27th, nearly two dozen students joined Mrs. Lester for lunch in the Diamond Diner. These students earned their reward by writing outstanding essays about their favorite books. Everyone had a great time eating their lunch by candlelight and listening to music. The stage was decorated for the occasion. We will be inviting other students to the Diamond Diner soon!
This week, our cameras caught one class doing an exceptional job during lunch. They were talking quietly to their neighbors, sitting down facing forward, and minding their manners. Congratulations to Mrs. Bowers' kindergarten class. Keep up the good work. Look for your class on here soon!!!
Good luck to 3rd and 4th grade as they begin their FSA Reading assessment today. Testing will continue for the next several weeks. Check out our CEB calendar for specific dates/grade levels/subjects.
